Principal’s Message

IVE(TM) offers full-time and part-time professional education and training programmes to meet industry and social needs.

Our programmes are at various QF Levels, recognised by professional bodies in Hong Kong and overseas, and Government departments, including Business, Engineering, Construction and Information Technology. By collaborating with local and international partners, students get opportunities for internships, exchanges, employment, and articulation pathways.

The Learning Resources Centre provides integrated facilities and services to meet students' learning needs. The Language Centre enhances students’ language and communication skills, while the Student Development Office develops students’ emotional intelligence and positive values.

State-of-the-art Facilities
The institution is equipped with advanced teaching facilities, including a Construction Project Studio, Marketing and Business Management Centre (MBMC), Multimedia and Creative Technology Laboratory, BIM Technology Centre, Building Services Laboratory, creating a vibrant learning environment for students.
BIM Technology Centre

Building Information Center is well-equipped with BIM software to facilitate effective teaching and learning experiences. This offers the students easy access to computers and other technological resources. It allows students to conduct research, collaborate on virtual projects, and explore educational software and applications.

Building Services Laboratory

It mainly provides the laboratory facilities and apparatus for the engineering students to experience the air conditioning and piped services theories learned in the lessons in the practical learning environment. The automation system can also enhance their control theories and strengthen their understanding in the system operations.

Centre for Business Innovation (COBI)

COBI has been established by the Department of Business to welcome the era of digitalization where students would experience some of the latest technologies adopted by business sector including A.I. chatbot for NLP training and nursing practice, so that students would have deeper understanding on customer experience optimization.

Centre for Independent Language Learning

Centre for Independent Language Learning (CILL) is a creative multimedia learning centre which comprises of a seminar room, an E-learning zone, an activity corner, and a reading corner. Personal computers, DVD players, a laser projector, Now TV channels, language-related CD-ROMs and a rich collection of Chinese and English learning resources which help students enhance their language proficiency are provided in the CILL.

The Multimedia and Creative Technology Laboratory provides a wide range of state-of-the-art multimedia facilities including video projection system, post-production tools and accessories for the Higher Diploma in Theme Park and Theatre Creative Technology students to advance their skills in operating theme parks and theatre-related entertainment performances.

VFX Laboratory

VFX Laboratory allows students to produce moving imagery and live audio-visual demonstrations in controlled settings. A floor-to-ceiling green screen is installed to facilitate and ideal for chroma-key, video production works and video streaming. The laboratory comprises a cyclorama with a curtain rail that provides green, white and black backdrop options. It also comes with professional virtual-set system, cameras, display panels, projection mapping devices, media server system, lighting and audio system to facilitate students to have hands-on experience in all-rounded visual effects and live entertainment productions.

Business students attend a lecture at the Hong Kong Customs College

52 Year 1 students of the Higher Diploma in Management for Disciplined Services of the Business Department attended the lecture from Hong Kong Customs College. During the session, students experienced the 1:1 cargo search training and the AR customs clearance training. The students enjoyed interactive activities and learned customs clearance procedures in real-life scenarios. This valuable experience reinforced the knowledge they learned in class.

The Student Awards Presentation Ceremony was successfully held to recognize the achievements of the students. The ceremony also provided a valuable opportunity for the awardees to express their most sincere gratitude to the donors in person. Donations amounting to over 1.96 million have been received this year and there were more than 190 awardees for their outstanding performance in academic and non-academic areas. The award was definitely a meaningful encouragement to the awardees and inspires them to excel in their studies.

Students from Higher Diploma in Building Studies of IVE (Tuen Mun) win Community Engagement Gold Award for "Choi Hung Dreams, Memory Streams" project

Students of the Higher Diploma in Building Studies of IVE (Tuen Mun) collaborated across disciplines with peers from the Childcare, Elderly and Community Services Discipline. They used drone aerials and 360-degree panoramic cameras to comprehensively document the architecture of Choi Hung Estate. Leveraging BIM and VR technologies, they recreated the estate's full panorama and historical scenes in the digital realm while recording oral histories and community sentiments from long-term residents to preserve Choi Hung's precious historical imprint. By integrating professional expertise with humanistic care, the project showcased the new generation's commitment to community cultural preservation and won the Community Engagement Gold Award in the VTC Community Engagement Reward Scheme – Community Quest.

"Twenty-Four Vistas: The Inner Landscape" Art Exhibition

Seven students in the Higher Diploma in Games and Animation at the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology at IVE (Tuen Mun) created an immersive virtual reality (VR) experience for the "Twenty-Four Vistas: The Inner Landscape" Art Exhibition organized by Lok Chi Association, using technology to unlock the infinite possibilities of art. Breaking away from traditional frameworks, the exhibition transforms physical paintings and artworks into VR images, allowing visitors to step into a virtual world and gain a deeper understanding of the mindsets and artistic achievements of artists with intellectual disabilities. Supported by the Social Welfare Department's Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities, the exhibition opened on 24 October at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC). It featured cement pots, ceramics, and creative paintings by 24 talented artists with intellectual disabilities, showcasing their unique artistic visions and creative talents. Through the exhibition, visitors gained a deeper appreciation of these artists' talents and experienced how technology builds bridges between art and inclusion.

More than 300 teachers and students from various departments enhanced their fraud prevention awareness and learned strategies to guard against scams.

They participated in the 7th Greater Bay Area STEAM Excellence Awards 2025 (Hong Kong), organised by the Hong Kong New Emerging Technology Education Association (HKNETEA), and won a Merit Award in the Tertiary/University category.

Engineering students of IVE (Tuen Mun) win URA x IVE Innovation Design Competition 2024/25

The URA x IVE Innovation Design Competition was jointly organized by the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) and IVE Engineering. This year's competition attracted over 100 student participants. Students from Higher Diploma in Building Services Engineering and Higher Diploma in Computer and Electronic Engineering teamed up, and their project "Digital Triplet" won the Silver Award and the Smartest Design Award. This project monitors elderly residents' home air quality and enables remote control of household appliances. Family members can monitor air conditioning in real time and receive proactive alerts for unattended stovetops, elevated indoor temperatures, gas leakages, etc.

Engineering students of IVE (Tuen Mun) win "Green Energy Dreams Come True Competition 2024/25"

HK Electric held the "Green Energy Dreams Come True Competition 2024/25" to promote decarbonization, energy efficiency and conservation, and renewable energy. A team of three Higher Diploma in Building Services Engineering students from IVE (Tuen Mun) designed a "Sustainable Energy-saving Water Curtain Wall" model and was awarded First Runner-up in the tertiary group. This innovative building solution integrates hydroelectric and solar power systems into a water curtain wall system. By naturally cooling the building façade, it reduces reliance on air conditioning and enhances overall energy efficiency.
