    Starting from mid-November, the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and Youth College (YC) will host Info Days (see attached Annex). School visits, Disciplines’ taster programmes and activities, career consultation and parents’ talks will be held to facilitate students and parents to better understand VTC programmes, which provide a good combination of academic knowledge and industry know how, as well as a way to diversified academic articulation and career pathway. Parties interested in applying for VTC programmes can do so through online platforms provided on site starting 27 November.  
     
    On 14 November, THEi will organise talks and campus familiarisation tours to highlight the 7 degree programmes for the academic year 2016/17 under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP), namely Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fashion Design, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Product Design, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Landscape Architecture, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Horticulture and Landscape Management, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Culinary Arts and Management, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Environmental Engineering and Management. A student admitted will be entitled to a subsidy ranging from HK$40,000 to HK$70,000. Taster programmes will be held on top of programme and admission briefings and campus familiarisation tours. The Faculty of Design and Environment will arrange workshops on pot plants, leather and paper lamp shades making. The Faculty of Management and Hospitality will demonstrate sports training theories and practices, whereas the Faculty of Science and Technology will organise activities related to the development of computer game software. 
     
    Various IVE campuses will also provide programme and admission briefings, parents’ talks and taster programmes during their Info Days. The Engineering Discipline of IVE (Chai Wan) is to set up an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle where visitors can control the drone on their own, experiencing the application of engineering knowledge in a fun-filled way. The Information Technology Discipline of IVE (Tuen Mun) will hold a workshop on 3D Visualisation using Shutter Glasses where visiting students can learn more about Virtual Reality and the development of mobile application software. The Student Development Office of IVE (Kwai Chung) will mount aptitude tests and workshops for students to better understand their progression pathways and career planning. HKDI will host a series of activities as well, including a mini fashion show organised by the Department of Fashion and Image Design, and branding strategy leveraging mobile app, games, movies and animation as showcased by the Department of Communication Design and Digital Media.      
     
    Youth College (Tuen Mun) will hold its Info Days on 4 and 5 December. Workshops of hairdressing, beauty care, hand treatment, and film editing & production will be organised.  Interested parties can visit the College and learn more about industry development.
