    Symposium and Workshop for HKDSE Graduates organised by
    VTC & Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups

    Results of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) are to be released shortly and Secondary 6 candidates and parents are busy preparing for academic and career progression. The Vocational Training Council (VTC) will partner with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups to hold the Symposium and Workshop for HKDSE Graduates 2017 on 24 June (Saturday) afternoon in the Hong Kong Productivity Council, providing candidates and parents with the latest information on academic progression in the run up to the HKDSE result release.

    Experts will gather to provide just-needed information for candidates. New media designer and stand-up comedian, Vivek MAHBUBANI, will talk about his journey in the entertainment industry in light-hearted style. An IVE graduate of the Business Administration Discipline Jun YEUNG and a graduate of the Information Technology Discipline Gary MAK will tell their startup stories about founding big data services and creative media production companies respectively.

    Vice-Chairperson of Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters Dr Esther HO will analyse, in the talk to parents, the latest data on academic progression and provide tips on how to communicate with children and face up to the HKDSE result release together. Career advisory workshops and mock interviews for the VTC Central Admission Scheme will be organised to help students better understand the progression pathways available and their own interests and abilities. Candidates can also take aptitude tests in the Occupation Discovery Zone to plan for the future.

    Edmond YU, VTC Senior Assistant Executive Director, will introduce the VTC Central Admission Scheme for HKDSE candidates to assist them in applying for VTC programmes of their choice.
