    The Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) Examination is drawing to a close and parents have most probably started to plan the progression pathways with their children. To introduce programmes suitable for DSE candidates, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) will organise the one-stop VTC Programme Selection Info Day on 10 May (Saturday) at IVE (Haking Wong). Featuring programmes on the VTC’s degree, higher diploma, foundation diploma (Level 3) and diploma in vocational education programmes, the Info Day will make available on-site application for VTC programmes.

    Programme selection briefings and talks will be offered providing consultation for parents and students on programme selection. The Info Day will also introduce student enrolment and popular programmes. Teachers will answer enquiries on study pathways, as well as parents’ talks equipping parents and young people to map out their studies.

    In 2014/15 academic year, VTC will offer more than 100 full-time programmes including degree programmes by the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), higher diploma programmes by the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and the International Culinary Institute, the Foundation Diploma (Level 3) programmes by IVE, as well as DVE programmes by Youth College providing some 20,000 study places suitable for Secondary 6 students.

    The Hospitality Industry Training and Development Centre (HITDC) and the Chinese Cuisine Training Institute (CCTI) offer diploma and certificate programmes to young people aspiring for a career in culinary arts, hotel and the hospitality industry. The Earn and Learn Pilot Scheme spearheaded by VTC will also be featured that day. Students and parents are welcome to obtain related information.

    Established in 1982, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) is the largest vocational and professional education and training provider in Hong Kong with some 250,000 students and trainees each year.
