Higher Diploma Programmes enable graduates to progress to university through the non-JUPAS route.  Students may be given exemption for relevant courses and directly enter the second or third year of a degree programme.

Alternatively graduates of Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification can apply for vocationally-oriented degree programmes offered by The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), a member institution of the VTC. Click here to learn about the Year-3 admission scheme.

More so, Higher Diploma graduates can apply for top-up degree programmes offered by the School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) – a member institution of the VTC, in collaboration with prestigious universities in the United Kingdom, Australia and the Mainland. You may find more programme details at the SHAPE website.

The IVE and HKDI Higher Diploma qualifications are well recognised by overseas universities. Graduates may be granted exemptions in relevant modules and hence, a much shorter time needed to complete the degree programme.
