A heartfelt thank you to all former and current IVE (Kwun Tong) Principals, IVE Principals, legislators, secondary school principals, teachers, students, KTTI/IVE (Kwun Tong) alumni, and IVE (Kwun Tong) staff and students for joining us in celebrating the “IVE (Kwun Tong) 50th Anniversary Celebration” on October 24!
On the event day, participants enjoyed interactive booth games from various academic departments, visited the IVE (Kwun Tong) 50th Anniversary Student Photography Exhibition, and captured memories at exclusive photo spots. All participants also received an exclusive IVE (Kwun Tong) 50th Anniversary gift — leaving with joyful atmosphere.
This semester, IVE (Tuen Mun) invited Mr WONG Cheung Hing, Alvin, Chief Inspector of the Regional Crime Prevention Office of the New Territories North, to deliver an anti-scam talk. More than 300 teachers and students from various departments enhanced their fraud prevention awareness and learned strategies to guard against scams.
Students LEUNG Ho Him, CHANG Chung Yin, LAU Kwan Ting, and CHER Chin Cheung from the Higher Diploma in Software Engineering at the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT) at IVE (Tuen Mun) formed the "Intelligent Power Distribution System" team. They participated in the 7th Greater Bay Area STEAM Excellence Awards 2025 (Hong Kong), organised by the Hong Kong New Emerging Technology Education Association (HKNETEA), and won a Merit Award in the Tertiary/University category.
The URA x IVE Innovation Design Competition was jointly organized by the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) and IVE Engineering. This year's competition attracted over 100 student participants. Students from Higher Diploma in Building Services Engineering and Higher Diploma in Computer and Electronic Engineering teamed up, and their project "Digital Triplet" won the Silver Award and the Smartest Design Award. This project monitors elderly residents' home air quality and enables remote control of household appliances. Family members can monitor air conditioning in real time and receive proactive alerts for unattended stovetops, elevated indoor temperatures, gas leakages, etc.
HK Electric held the "Green Energy Dreams Come True Competition 2024/25" to promote decarbonization, energy efficiency and conservation, and renewable energy. A team of three Higher Diploma in Building Services Engineering students from IVE (Tuen Mun) designed a "Sustainable Energy-saving Water Curtain Wall" model and was awarded First Runner-up in the tertiary group. This innovative building solution integrates hydroelectric and solar power systems into a water curtain wall system. By naturally cooling the building façade, it reduces reliance on air conditioning and enhances overall energy efficiency.
