    Term / Temporary / Part-time Research Assistant I / II (Chinese Language Education)

    The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers 21 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input.  All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies.  In 2020/21 academic year, ten programmes will be included in the HKSAR Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $42,800 to $74,600 per year.  For more information about our Institute, please visit https://www.thei.edu.hk.

    Major Duties:
    The appointee shall report to the Principal Investigator (PI) and is expected to assist the PI in conducting research related to Chinese Language Education. He/she will be required to do literature review; conduct interview and data analysis; assist in drafting research proposals for external funding; prepare research reports; and perform other research duties as assigned by the PI.
     
    Requirements:
    For the post of Term / Temporary / Part-time Research Assistant I, applicants should have a Master’s degree in Education, Chinese Language and Literature, Language Studies, or related disciplines; or a recognised degree in relevant disciplines with relevant work experience; or equivalent.
     
    For the post of Term / Temporary / Part-time Research Assistant II, applicants should have a recognised sub-degree in Education, Chinese Language and Literature, Language Studies, or related disciplines; or equivalent.
     
    Candidates should possess good organisation and interpersonal skills, good command on Microsoft Word, Excel and SPSS, the ability to use library resources effectively, and good command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua). Those with experience in educational research would have an advantage. Fresh graduates will also be considered.
     
    Notes:
    (1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
    (2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
