    3rd Hong Kong Unison Community Project Competition 2022

    IVE (Kwun Tong) students won "3rd Hong Kong Unison Community Project Competition 2022" . "Hands in Hands for Furry Hands" is a cultural exchange and social service project. It aims to promote youth engagement in active citizenship and social participation with joint effort of different races. Students are eager to support animal protection organizations creating Hong Kong as a caring home for people and animals.

    Summer Blossoms by Lee Gardens” Community Art Exhibition and Social Service Program

    "Summer Blossoms by Lee Gardens” Community Art Exhibition and Social Service Program" was selected as the Best Civic Education Activity by the Wofoo Leaders' Network! The program was jointly organized by Hysan Place, Wofoo Leaders’ Network, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwun Tong) and Women Sewing Union. Volunteers handcrafted 5,000 'Lee Garden Flowers' art installations, exhibited in the Lee Gardens area. After the exhibition, the materials were recycled and transformed into study desks and donated to underprivileged students. The project nurtured the public to become environmentally conscious and caring citizens for vulnerable communities.

    VTC Outstanding Volunteer Program Competition

    IVE (Kwun Tong) students won the "VTC Outstanding Volunteer Program Competition" Gold Award! The theme of "VTC Outstanding Volunteer Program Competition and Award Ceremony 2022" was “Inspire-Vision-Engagement” and IVE (Kwun Tong) students utilized their professional knowledge and applied skills to serve the community by organizing “Walking With Stray Animal Protection Service Project. They dedicated their efforts to protect abandoned animals and promote the development of a harmonious community between humans and pets. Their outstanding service performance received recognition and praise.

    2022/23 Wofoo Leaders' Network Outstanding Project Award

    IVE (Kwun Tong) students won 2022/23 Wofoo Leaders' Network Outstanding Project Award! Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwun Tong) Wofoo Leaders' Network actively collaborates with different sectors of the society. Together with Hysan Place and Women Sewing Union, students co-organized "Summer Blossoms by Lee Gardens” Community Art Exhibition and Social Service Program" . Volunteers handcrafted 5,000 "Lee Gardens flowers" art installations exhibited in the Lee Gardens area to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return.     Stray Meow Rescue

    IVE (Kwun Tong) students organized "Stray Meow Rescue" and was awarded for the Dream Project 2022! La Violet Charity aims to inspire youths to pursue their dreams and organizes activities to encourage Hong Kong people to find their interests and pursue what they are passionate about. IVE (Kwun Tong) students and alumni, driven by their love for animals, joined together to utilize their skills and served animals in need during their free time. Through creative media, they raised public awareness about the lives of stray animals, their needs, and services. Their goal is to promote support for adoption, to adopt instead of purchasing, and to convey the message of respecting life. The "Stray Meow Rescue" was selected as La Violet Charity Dream Project 2022, acknowledging the students' spirit of pursuing their dreams.

    Business and Cultural Study Tour to Japan

    26 June 2023
    26 High Diploma, 4 Diploma Foundation studies students and 2 teaching staff from Business Kwun Tong joined a study tour to Japan from 26 June to 1 July 2023. Other than appreciating the historical and cultural aspects of Japan, students were exposed to Japanese corporations’ innovative business technology and sustainable management.

    Places they visited included: Marusan (a famous soya milk brand), the Panasonic Eco Technology Center, OMRON (a pioneer in the field of automation), Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art and The Osaka Museum of Housing and Living. They were also able to exchange their ideas on design thinking in the post-COVID-19 era with the local students at the Osaka University of Economics.

    Visit to CUPNOODLES MUSEUM Hong Kong

    Students from HD in Public Relations and Communication Management visited the CUPNOODLES MUSEUM Hong Kong on 16 June 2023. Ms. June Lau, the Public Relations Manager at Nissin Foods shared with students how her team launched, promotes and operates the museum. Students also joined the ‘Demae Iccho (出前一丁) Factory’ workshop, making Demae Iccho by hand, experiencing the entire process of noodle making.

    HKVTC Shop最強電商王Keep On Live大賽

    The Grand Final of HKVTC Shop最強電商王Keep On Live大賽, organised by the Business Discipline of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), was successfully held on 18 May 2023 at IVE (Kwun Tong). Tying in with the Discipline’s vision, the competition provided contestants with a platform to showcase their talents, creativity and vigour in live commerce. Contestants from two categories, namely Secondary school students and VTC full-time students, joined the competition. Five outstanding teams from each category were shortlisted for the Grand Final. To prepare the finalists, two KOL Master Training Classes were arranged for them to enrich their understanding of the live commerce operations in Mainland China and Hong Kong as well as the required skills and knowledge.

    In the Grand Final, the finalists competed for the Champion Award, 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up, the Most Creative Award and the Most Charismatic Award. They were required to select and engage in live commerce promotion for one of five products from the HKVTC Shop: the hooded sweater, windbreaker, graduation bear, umbrella and tablet case.

    The professional judging panel was formed by representatives from various industries. Additionally, five KOLs from different fields with rich practical experience were also invited to offer bonus marks to the outstanding teams. The judges and professional KOLs were unanimously impressed by the performance of the finalists.

    CEO Sharing: Start and Manage a Brand like ‘Kam Kee Café’

    A CEO sharing “Start and Manage a Brand like ‘Kam Kee Café" was held in hybrid mode on 6 March 2023. Professor Calvin Tse, the Founder & CEO of Kam Kee Holdings Limited shared the company’s branding strategies with 50 students from the Higher Diploma in Public Relations and Communication Management and Higher Diploma in Event Marketing and Digital Promotion onsite. In the meantime, over 100 audiences enjoyed the talk online.

    HKVTC Shop Grand Opening cum Fun Fair

    A Grand Opening Ceremony cum Fun Fair for HKVTC Shop was held at IVE (Kwun Tong) on 15 December 2022.

    Other than the product display zone, the Fun Fair had activities zones including Design Gallery, e-Commerce Live Streaming Zone and Logistics & VR Experience Zone to promote the core learning features of HKVTC Shop.

    The HKVTC Shop offers sales and distribution e-Commerce platform for them to market their products and showcase their talents. It also provides an authentic training environment to nurture students with competencies required by the e-Commerce industry through the application of academic knowledge and the practice of vocational skills in a real business context. Students from the relevant programmes of different Disciplines will be engaged in the HKVTC Shop operation in the form of workplace attachment under Workplace Learning & Assessment (WLA).

    DorisKath x IVE Business Fashion Show 2022

    To promote awareness of sustainability in the fashion sector, IVE Business organised the "DorisKath x IVE Business Fashion Show 2022" with the famous local fashion brand DorisKath. With the support of over 70 BA students, the show was successfully held at IVE (Kwun Tong) on 18 Nov 2022 under the theme "Green Fashion".

    The Fashion Show was divided into three parts: RESTYLE, RECONSTRUCT and REBORN. Upcycling used clothes and creatively re-styling dresses were demonstrated. The Business programmes were introduced on the fashion runway during the Fashion Show.

    Online First Aid Training

    With the support of HK St. John Ambulance (St. John), over 100 students of Diploma of Foundation Studies (Business) and Higher Diploma in Event Marketing and Digital Promotion joined the 2 hours online first aid training conducted by St. John. The training aimed to raise students’ awareness and knowledge in basic first aid skills including knowledge in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillator (AED). The training enabled students to assist injured persons during their Work-integrated Learning (WIL) or their future workplace.

    Biz Tech Forum 2022

    6 – 7 Oct 2022
    To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the VTC, under the theme “Skilling Talent • Sparking Innovation”, the Business Discipline conducted a two-day virtual event “Biz Tech Forum 2022” (the Forum) from 6th to 7th October 2022. The kick-off ceremony was held at IVE (Kwun Tong) on 6th October 2022.

    Co-organised with the Institute of Technical Education Singapore (ITE), the Forum themed “Leveraging Innovation for a Better Future”, aiming to provide insights on the latest trends and innovations in the business sector. Business leaders were invited to share insights and best practices about corporate innovation with Hong Kong and Singapore students.

    IVE (Kwun Tong) Accountancy students scoop awards in open competitions

    HKICPA Business Case Competition is one of the most important business competitions opened for all tertiary institutions. The competing teams were required to develop a proposal to conduct strategic analysis with recommendations and implementation plans to improve the company’s business. They have to apply both business and accounting concepts in their business proposals.

    After several rounds of evaluation, two teams of students from IVE (Kwun Tong)’s HD in Accountancy with Business Analytics in the Sub-degree Group were shortlisted to compete in the Final Competition. In the Final Competition, the contesting teams were required to make an oral presentation in front of a panel of adjudicators which included the President and Vice Presidents of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants who are the partners of ‘Big 4’ accountancy firms.

    With excellent performance, the IVE (Kwun Tong) Accountancy students swept awards of Champion, 2nd runner-up and Best Written Proposal.

    IVE Business x Ricky KAZAF - Collaboration and K Concept Studio Opening Party

    On 1 April 2021, Mr. Ricky KAZAF, a famous Key Opinion Leader (KOL) who is popular for his unique philosophy on make-up and image design, kick-started his collaboration with Business Discipline in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony. A creative team has been formed with students across different programmes for equipping students with KOL techniques and providing a platform for enriching students' practical experience.

    On 13 May 2021, Ricky and Business Discipline jointly organized the K Concept Opening Party to celebrate the grand opening of K Concept Studio - a professional studio with cutting-edge KOL facilities such as mini beauty salon and audio-visual equipment for personal image and corporate grooming training. Many famous KOLs were invited to participate in the Party and enjoyed the memorable moments at the Studio.

    Opening Ceremony of Studio ONE

    The Opening Ceremony of Studio ONE was held on 25 June 2021. Industrial partners, secondary school teachers from the Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters and fellow department members witnessed this memorable moment. Studio ONE is a new state-of-the-art studio specializing in broadcasting and live streaming. The facility will enhance our collaboration with business partners for the development of diversified broadcast programmers and industrial projects to connect our students with the community.

    “IVE Business x DorisKath - Fashion Festival Be Yourself” Student Orientation Party

    Ms. DorisKath CHAN a prestigious and talented fashion designer, has been invited to become a guest lecturer on the module “Artiste Management – Styling and Image Design” offered by the HD in Artiste and Cultural Management. To celebrate the collaboration between Business Discipline and DorisKath, a Student Orientation Party “IVE Business x DorisKath Fashion Festival Be Yourself” was organized on 1 September 2021. During the Party, a mini fashion show was held to showcase her collections and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed symbolizing that the cooperation is officially launched.

    HKICPA Business Case Competition 2020

    The HKICPA Business Case Competition is one of the most important business competitions to all tertiary institutions. The participating teams were required to submit a written business proposal for a case company to analyze its business performance and to give recommendation on strategies to sustain its growth. After several rounds of evaluations by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), two IVE (Kwun Tong) Accountancy student teams were shortlisted to enter the Final of the Competition. In the Final, they are required to give an oral presentation to a panel of adjudicators which includes the President and Vice-president of the HKICPA and a partner of a 'Big Four' accountancy firm.

    With excellent business recommendations and creative style of presentation which tremendously impressed the adjudicators, one of our student teams won the 1st Runner Up and the Best Written Proposal award.

    Another team also performed excellently and won the Merit Team Award.

    ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition 2018/19

    A team of students from HD in Accountancy of IVE (Kwun Tong) defeated over 300 teams from both degree and sub-degree level and being the ONLY sub-degree team to compete with other 7 degree student teams in the Final Competition. With outstanding performance, they swept three awards including Creative Excellence Award, My Favourite Team Award and Merit Award.

    The Competition attracts more than 300 teams (over 1,200 students) from both degree and sub-degree level. After two rounds of selection, IVE(Kwun Tong) together with the other seven teams including the University of Hong Kong (four teams), Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, and Lingnan University entered the Final Competition which was held in Cordis Hotel. They presented their business proposals before a panel of judges which includes the partners of 'Big 4' accountancy firm.

    The IVE(Kwun Tong) team had excellent performance in the Final Competition. They illustrated their key ideas with a creative role play together with easily-memorized slogans. Their presentation impressed greatly the judges and audience and eventually won 3 awards.

    ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition 2017

    In the ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition, a team of students from HD in Accountancy of IVE (Kwun Tong) defeated over 340 teams from both degree and sub-degree level and being the ONLY sub-degree team to compete with other 7 degree student teams in the Final Competition. With outstanding performance, they won four prizes including ‘My Favourite Team’ Award, Best Budgeting Award, Team Excellence Award and Merit Award.

    In the Competition, the contesting teams need to choose real social enterprises as case study and developed a proposal with workable solutions and action plans to optimize their operations. The Competition attracts more than 350 teams (over 1,300 students) from both degree and sub-degree level.

    After two rounds of selection, IVE(Kwun Tong) together with the other seven teams including the University of Hong Kong (two teams), Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University and Hang Seng Management College entered the Final Competition which was held in Cordis Hotel. They presented their business proposals before a panel of judges which includes the partners of 'Big 4' accountancy firm. The IVE(Kwun Tong) team had excellent performance in the Final Competition.     In addition, another student team from HD in Accountancy of IVE(Kwun Tong) was shortlisted as the Top-20 and was awarded the Judges' Commendation. Actually, among the Top-20, only 4 teams came from sub-degree level and the IVE(Kwun Tong) team was one of them.

    HKIAAT Accounting & Business Management Case Competition 2016

    Two student teams from HD in Accountancy of IVE(Kwun Tong) won the Championship and 2nd Runner-up respectively of the HKIAAT Accounting & Business Management Case Competition out of 172 teams from 14 tertiary institutes in Hong Kong. These two teams also jointly got the Best Business Proposal Award (the Adjudication Panel gave them the same score). Furthermore, Ms. Chu Wing Yin of the Champion team was crowned the Best Presenter. It is the 4th time that IVE (Kwun Tong) students won the Champion in the recent 6 years of Competition.

    In the Competition, International Housewares Retail Co Ltd (the parent company of JHC) is the selected company for case study. The participating teams were required to submit a written business proposal to analyze the business performance and to give recommendation on strategies to sustain the growth of the company. Six teams were shortlisted to enter the Final of the Competition. In the Final, the teams gave an oral presentation to a panel of judges.

    HKIAAT Accounting & Business Management Case Competition 2015

    In the HKIAAT Accounting and Business Management Case Competition 2015, a total of 3 teams from the HD in Accountancy of IVE(Kwun Tong) entered the final round of the Competition. The student team led by Mok Ka Man won the Second Runner-Up and Best Business Proposal Award. The other two teams also won the Merit Award in the competition. Luk Fook Holdings (International) Ltd was the selected company for this year's case study. The participating teams are required to submit a written business proposal to analyze the business performance of and give recommendations on strategies to sustain the company's growth. In the Final, our students presented their ideas professionally and creatively. The judges highly praised their performance.

    The 7th International Footwear Design Competition 2015

    A student from Foundation Diploma (Level 3) – Design won the 2nd runner-up of the Sport Shoes Category in the 7th International Footwear Design Competition with his shoe design “Technology Future”. This competition was organized by the Confederation of International Footwear Association and co-organized with the Footwear Federation/Associations from eleven countries/regions. The award ceremony and exhibition was held in Guangzhou on 1 June 2015.

    Creative Energy Saving Signage Design Competition 2015

    To promote the importance of healthy lifestyle and whole person development to the new generation of teenagers, as well as facilitating inter-school exchange on sports activities, the Student Development Office of IVE(Kwun Tong) had held the Healthy Lifestyle - Indoor Rowing Invitation Competition Invitational Tournament. 350 participants from IVE(Kwun Tong) , IVE(Haking Wong), IVE(Chai Wan), DILWL, Youth College (Kowloon Bay) and 19 secondary schools in Kwun Tong and Tseung Kwan O competed for 6 individual and 4 relay prizes.

    Healthy Lifestyle - Indoor Rowing Invitation Competition

    ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition 2014

    The students from HD in Accountancy of IVE(Kwun Tong) swept the Champion, Best Presenter, Most Creative Team Award and My Favourite Team Award in the ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition out of over 200 teams from tertiary institutes in Hong Kong.

    The participants of the Competition are required to prepare business proposals for setting up social enterprises to alleviate poverty and improve the social integration as well as upward mobility of the poor families. The four-student team from IVE(Kwun Tong) planned to set up a social enterprise named 'Hidden Magic Training Centre' which helps the hidden youth to regain the self-confidence through learning magic skills. They prepared a business proposal which includes the details of operation, promotion and budget etc.

    In the Final, the students conveyed their idea professionally with creative presentation skills. They greatly impressed the judges and eventually swept four prizes in the Competition.

    Youth "Dreamers" ChariTEE Design Competition

    9 students from Foundation Diploma (Level 3) – Design won 9 Awards including Champion, and 1st runners up in the Youth "Dreamers" ChariTEE Design Competition. The competition was organized by Hong Kong Association of Youth Development. The award ceremony was held at Hollywood Plaza on 1 March 2014. Mr. Gregory So Kam-leung, GBS,JP, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development was invited to award the prizes. The awards Tee designs were produced and sale for charity purpose.

    Chatteris Programme

    The Language Centre also has two native English speakers from the Chatteris Educational Foundation who are available at all times to help students to improve their English, especially through different non-academic activities. We have workshops and chat groups on Slang, Cultures, Interview Skills, etc.

    Language Centre Programme

    The Language Centre runs exciting activities for students to improve their English communication skills in a relaxing atmosphere outside classroom. Events take place year round and are open to all students. Events include Halloween Event, Travelogue Writing Competition, Christmas Celebration, Chinese Riddles, Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year Event.

    Team Building Programme – Wofoo Leaders’ Network Leadership Training Series - Archery Tag / Bubble Soccer

    To promote the importance of healthy lifestyle and whole person development to our students, the Wofoo Leaders’ Network of Student Development Office of IVE(Kwun Tong) had organized activities of “Leadership Training Series”. Through the trendy games like Archery Tag and bubble soccer, students learn how to collaborate with others in team challenges and their communication skill and teamwork are enhanced.
