    Talk on Chinese Wedding Etiquette and Works of Traditional & Contemporary Chinese Wedding Master

    In China, marriage is considered to be one of the three most important things in one's whole life. Traditionally, a whole wedding consists of 6 different steps in advance and then the wedding ceremony. Ms. Lo Kan Fong, the famous Chinese Wedding master (大妗姐) shared her valuable experience in this area.

    In October 2013, 34 students went to Guangzhou, visited the 114th China Import and Export fair (Canton Fair) and attended a seminar on the latest trends of the exhibition industry.

    Optics Seminar on “Developments & Applications in Ultra Precision Diamond Machining”

    An Optics Seminar on “Developments & Applications in Ultra Precision Diamond Machining” was held on 15 October 2013 at IVE (Lee Wai Lee). Mr. Gavin Chapman, Director of Focal Dimensions, gave a technical talk on the latest applications of ultra-precision diamond machining in optics industry for 36 students of Higher Diploma in Optics Technology.

    The Baltic Amber Festival (HK)

    The Baltic Amber Festival (HK) was held in Hong Kong on 19-21 June 2012. The organiser had offered the first “Amber Open Lecture” and “Amber Workshop” for students of Higher Diploma in Jewellery Design & Technology, IVE (Lee Wai Lee).
    Co-organised by the Department of Engineering Technology and Management and Pro-Act Training Development Centre (Jewellery) of IVE (Lee Wai Lee), the Amber Open Lecture and Amber Workshop were conducted by Mr Mariusz Gliwiński, renowned Jewellery Designer and Professor Sławomir Fijałkowski, Academy of Fine Arts Gdansk from Poland, aiming at promoting exchange of culture and design practice between Hong Kong and Poland.

    Seminar on “Design and Development in Jadeite Industry”

    Vice President of Hong Kong Jade Association, Mr TSE Kin Wing, shared foundamental knowledge of Chinese Jade stones, design practice and the market trend of jade jewellery with 90 students from Higher Diploma in Jewellery Design and Technology of IVE(Lee Wai Lee).
