The Department of Business aims to provide quality and vocationally oriented programmes that are relevant to current employment needs and to offer flexible education which enhances graduates' opportunities for career advancement and further studies. The programmes have been prepared in line with the advice and guidance of representatives from the major areas of business in Hong Kong. All programmes emphasize practical business training and students are exposed to a high level of 'hands-on' practice that reflects current business practices and situations. The Department provides a diverse and effective training environment for the students. Programme modules offered by the Department encourage creativity and practicality. Through integrating business theories and practices in the learning process, students not only learn the technical skills that are required in workplace, but also acquire the key skills like interpersonal communication skills, personal management skills and teamwork skills that prepare them to succeed in their future careers. |
Learning and Teaching Support

The Department, with a team of well qualified staff, is committed to the development of innovative learning approaches supported by multimedia teaching aids and resources. The Department is equipped with a good range of industry-specific learning and teaching facilities for students’ practical learning, including the Centre of Business Innovation (COBI) and the Marketing and Business Management Centre (MBMC). |
Career Prospects

There are numerous career opportunities arising from the courses offered within the Department. Graduates can be employed as business or marketing, accounting or disciplinary sub-professionals and also many more interesting and rewarding positions in the business sector of Hong Kong. |
Further Studies
|
Higher Diploma graduates can apply the bachelor degree programmes offered by local universities through Non-JUPAS, or by overseas universities directly. In the meantime, the Business Discipline offers the “2+1 International Track” articulation scheme which admits its Higher Diploma graduates directly to a top-up bachelor degree programme offered by its overseas collaborating universities. |
Professional Recognitions
| Higher Diploma graduates of the Department will be granted professional qualification, membership or professional exam exemption by relevant professional bodies in Hong Kong, for example, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing (HKIM). |
