    “Emerging Design Talents 2015: SOAR” HKDI & IVE (Lee Wai Lee) Annual Show unveils graduates’

    Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) (Lee Wai Lee) are committed to offering excellent learning opportunities to nurture creative talents. Every year the two institutes organise a graduation show to exhibit the best of students’ works to the public, preparing the up-and-coming talents to soar and fly high in the sky. The title of the show, “Emerging Design Talents 2015: SOAR” manifests a confident future to the young creative talents, no matter which arena they are going to endeavour. Open to the public for free from 19 to 28 June at HKDI & IVE (Lee Wai Lee), the show will present an array of student works from various design disciplines, revealing the unlimited potential of our young generation.
     
    Just like previous years, ”Emerging Design Talents 2015: SOAR” has numerous impressive shows to offer, including the not-to-be-missed New Fashion Force, featuring over 30 best fashion and accessories collections from over 200 fashion design graduates. The public will see cutting edge designs and the passion of our home-grown designers in between the fabrics and stitches. Another highlight of the event is “The Revolutionary Image of The New Generation – Sur-Realisation”. A series of wearable artworks image design from the mixed effort of fashion, make-up, hair styling and stage costume will be displayed, refreshing audience’s visual experience.
     
    There is also the first time “Advanced Design Studio”, where avant-garde design works titled ”Future 10 Years” prepared by 10 outstanding students will be exhibited. The 10 students from various disciplines including Creative Media, Landscape Architecture and Film & TV etc. were chosen out of 2,000 students to participate in a nine-day study tour in Austria, the pioneer in design. Their fruitful results from the study tour, greatly innovative and inspiring are displayed in the Studio.
     
    “Emerging Design Talents 2015: SOAR” is an annual gala with exhibitions, fashion shows, concerts, styling show and micro-film screening. The opening ceremony will be held at 7:15pm on 19 June 2015 at HKDI & IVE (Lee Wai Lee), with Dr Edmund Lee, Executive Director of Hong Kong Design Centre as officiating guest.
     
    Student works from various design disciplines, including Advertising Design, Creative Media, Digital Music & Media, Film & TV, Publication Design & Print Media, Transmedia, Visual Communication, Fashion Design, Fashion Image Design, Furniture and Lifestyle Product Design, Jewellery and Image Product Design, Architectural Design, Landscape Architecture, Product Design, Exhibition Design, Interior Design, Visual Arts and Culture, Information Technology and others will be exhibited in the Show.

    The Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) is a member of the VTC Group. HKDI was established in 2007 with the mission to be a leading provider of design education and lifelong learning.     The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) is a member of the VTC Group. The 9 IVE campuses are located across the territory. Together they provide vocational education for secondary graduates as well as people in employment. IVE courses leading to the award of higher diploma and foundation diploma cover various academic disciplines including Applied Science; Business Administration; Child Education and Community Services; Design; Information Technology; Engineering; as well as Hotel, Service and Tourism Studies.
