Located on the 3/F of the Learning Resources Centre, the Centre for Independent Language Learning (CILL) is a self-access social space for interaction, sharing of ideas and language enhancement.

In addition to the common area for socialising, the CILL is equipped with not only two newly installed multi-purpose rooms as well as a multi-touch panel, but also a wide range of language games, books, films and self-learning programmes. Here students can enjoy the autonomy to set their own pace of learning by engaging themselves in various language learning activities.

To facilitate students’ acquisition of both social and academic language, our English-speaking Project Coordinators organise a range of interactive language learning activities, such as language tutorials, IELTS workshops, chat groups, group discussions, mock interviews, and even film appreciation. Furthermore, students can volunteer to join our English Ambassador Team and help organise English activities on campus for everyone to enjoy.
