    Sports Activities

    VTC Athletic Meet

     

    An annual mega event to encourage all full-time students to explore their potential in Track-and-Field events and promote sense of belongings.

    Road to Marathon

     

    “Road to Marathon” provides students an opportunity to challenge their personal limit and hone their perseverance through long-distance running. Students who have completed the programme would be sponsored to join a marathon or relevant long-distance running race.

    VTC Sports Team

     

    All full-time students of Higher Diploma Programmes are eligible to join the VTC Sports Teams. The VTC Sports Teams will participate in the sports events organised by the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong. Selection of the IVE Sports Teams take place in September of each year. Students can be nominated by fellow students or PE officers to join the Team selection trial. Team members may have the opportunity to represent Hong Kong, China to compete in the National/World University Games.

    Inter-Campus Sports Competition

     

    Competitions include Basketball, Rugby, Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Table-tennis and Tennis. Full-time Higher Diploma or Foundation Diploma (Level 3) Programmes students with good performance in the above events may be invited to join the IVE Sports Team selection in the coming academic year.

    Optional Physical Education Courses

     

    Optional Physical Education courses are offered to full-time students. Students who fulfill the course requirements will be recognised in their non-academic transcripts.

    Sports Clubs

     

    The Sports Clubs are formed under the supervision of Students' Union. They help to promote sports activities within the Campus, such as assisting the Students' Union in sports events, the Inter-Campus Sports Competition, and forming cheer squads. Students who are interested to set up Sports Club can submit their plans to PE officers for advices.

    The Hong Kong Award for Young People (HKAYP)

     

    The Hong Kong Award for Young People is a programme about challenge, enterprise, effort and achievement. It fills the gap left by formal education and encourages young people to achieve whole person development through a unique appreciation system recognised by the society. The Award provides young people (aged between 14 and 25) with chances of facing different challenges and opportunities to utilize their leisure time in a constructive way, to set and achieve personal goals, and to know more about themselves and their community through experiential learning.

    Other Activities

     

    Wofoo Leaders' Network (WLN)

     

    Wofoo Leaders’ Network (WLN) actively promotes the leadership training courses among teenagers of higher educational institutions. Their goal is to provide students who registered as members with opportunities of planning and promoting various kinds of meaningful activities which serves as an important step of equipping them to serve our community. Their members will gain exposure to the knowledge outside textbook context and be inspired to be the future leaders of our society.

    IVElite

     

    “IVElite” is a student peer mentoring project, on the basis of Outcome-based Education. Students are self-regulated learners to lead the project on their own. With the experience sharing and support from the mentors, mentees would quickly adjust to the new learning environment and develop a systematic learning strategy. Students will have a lot of chances to organize and participate in various campus and joint-campuses activities, such as Thankful Day, Joint-Campuses Training Camp and Christmas Party.

    Speak for Success

     

    “Speak for Success Programme” is a structured training project to enhance students’ communication, presentation and public speaking skills. With a series of intensive workshops and activities, together with professional advice and peer interaction, students will become confident, presentable and effective communicators which will pave their ways to success!
